Making

A monster.

Everyone knows that under their mattress lives a monster. John Lewis and Michel Gondry made a Christmas ad that introduced the nation to one such monster — Moz — and his brave, little-boy best friend.

We supported the campaign in-store and online, with a digital monster-maker that would introduce kids across the UK to their own under-the-bed best buddy.

User journey.

We designed a playful journey that led little ones to discover their new pal bit by bit and kept them engaged.

Shine a torch with your finger reveal your monster's shadow. Dare to stroke its fur and change its colour. Now show us what its monstrous fart sounds like! The user journey is sketched out in the rough frames below.

In store.

We were also tasked with dreaming up an in-store activation for John Lewis' flagship Oxford Street store. Monster hide & seek! Children searched Moz's house where he popped out from the wardrobe, the fireplace and (of course) under the bed.
